Manufacture de faïence, Longton : Hudson & Middleton Ltd.
This unique collection gathers photographs of industrial buildings and landscapes, predominantly from the works of Pierre Fluck, lecturer and researcher at the University of Upper Alsace (UHA) and co-director of the CRESAT research centre, who specialises in the archeology of industrial machinery. The remaining 10% of photographs come from the works of various CRESAT members. These 16,000 pictures are divided into two collections: a regional iconography collection, and a collection on industrial sites spanning 16 European countries and North America.

9,900 pictures were taken in Alsace, 2,845 in various regions of France, and 3,123 in other European countries (UK, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania), resulting in a diverse display of indutrial buildings. Naileries, breweries, laundries, confectioneries, crystal glass and electrical panels manufactures, or estate mansions: these are only a few examples of all the industrial remains that researchers photographed.

Each industrial site collection comes with a short description of the company's history, the buildings' architecture, or the specificities of the devices portrayed. So far, we have uploaded some 2,600 pictures, with the intent to expand the collections in the coming years.
